Germany Beat Uruguay 2010 FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa Clinches 3 rd Place Again

Well done Germany, you deserved to win against a team that just could not match you as a team although they had individual players that could beat you. You outplayed Uruguay in every department but for phony fouls committed by some actors in the Uruguay team. I liked watching a youthful team at work.

I was annoyed with the commentators and their take on the crowd's booing of Luiz Suarez. One spectator actually said that the booing is indicative of the crowd's ignorance of the rules of the game. Wow, is that what the South African crowd is getting as a thank you compliment for hosting a successful World Cup? The commentators on ABC channel 10 could not contain their frustration with the booing. They implied that it was annoying, unfair and downright stupid. My dear commentators on ABC , I humbly beg to differ. It is precisely because the South African crowd knows the rules of the game of soccer that they have every right to boo the man who should get the FIFA award for "Handball Villain of 2010. Any deliberate handball is not in the true spirit of the game of soccer. Even if Ghana netted from the penalty spot, Mr. Suarez would still be a villain for his deliberate handball that prevented a sure goal not a penalty goal.

If Mr. Suarez wants to play with his hands why does he not go and play netball? Actually he will not be penalized because playing with your hands is allowed. Thank you, ABC commentators for insulting the South African crowd. We are not ignorant of the rules of soccer. Indeed, we are passionate about the game of soccer. The commentators owe the South African crowd an apology.

South Africans will never glorify a soccer villain.

You just had to watch Mr. Suarez around the "box" in this game. Every time he did not get through he would act as if he was fouled. He deliberately embraced the grass because he loves to have his pictures taken lying on the grass. Soccer is not a photo shoot, sir. Soccer is not filming for a Hollywood movie. Soccer is not a game for actors and handball villains. Why does Mr. Suarez not emulate the gentlemanly example of Mr. Diego Forlan who even placed the ball for a German goal kick?

The irony was that the same action that robbed Ghana of victory sealed Uruguay's fate; a shot that hit the cross bar . Now that is what I call soccer justice.
