What a stunning game? The result was never in doubt for me. It is Netherlands all the way. They can start singing My Sarie Marais " or whatever song they love. It was an orange Green Point Stadium with so many princesses and princesses present. Green Point was transformed to the orange bowel and throne
South Americas interest in this competition is finite. It is a European thing now. What a gem of a goal by Robben? Just when they doubted the goal by Sneijder, Robben rocks it home into the back of the Uruguay net, score 3-1.
Finally justice is done with Uruguay out. Sure they were missing that midfield general handballer playing soccer. Forlan was good but could not beat the Netherlands on his own. Uruguay escaped from a loss to Ghana but could not escape the Netherlands mean machine.
The Netherlands was unstoppable. The play fast an electric. The ball went from player to player with precision. Wow. Robben is definitely my man of the match. At first Uruguay did not know what was hitting them.
So Uruguay can go home now. They will be remembered as the underdogs who tried.
If the Netherlands can play like this they will surely have the upper hand of Germany. I like Germanys youthful team. I like the German defense and attack. However the experience of the Netherlands team will eventually outsmart the Germans.
More than 500,000 visitors to South Africa enjoyed the world cup season in South Africa. Yes, I know it was cold and rainy and windy but it was the greatest world cup ever. Never in the history of the world was cup there so much fear and anxiety about the venue. I fielded numerous phone calls and dialogues about safety in South Africa the main questions was what about the high crime rate? " Should we get personal body guards was the questions from most of my colleagues and friends that planned to go to South Africa for world cup 2010.
Now our visitors can go home with delight and South Africans can enjoy their country with its beauty yet again.
Viva! South Africa!
