Americans will be focused on Her Majestys visit to New York while the rest of the world will be focused on South Africa where two European teams prepare to take on each other for the coveted soccer world cup trophy. I wish I was in New York to meet the Queen. I was born on the day that the queen was crowned. My late mom told me that as she was listening to the coronation proceedings she gave birth to me and I had the nick name, Prince Charming " since then. The Coronation took place in Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953. It was a solemn ceremony conducted by Dr Geoffrey Fisher, Archbishop of Canterbury. She is the reigning queen of 16 independent sovereign states known as the commonwealth realms.

I guess that she will talk about world peace and about the world having to stand together to fight terrorism. I wish that she will address poverty and focus on the starving masses in our world. I hope that she will bring the plight of children into focus. Many, children have no future in our technologically advanced social networking world of facebook, twitter and google.

She will obviously have a message of hope for those grieving the loss of loved ones in 9/11. British subjects as well as others will find her presence comforting.

I have always followed the movements of her majesty Queen Elizabeth with more than keen interest because of the synchronization of my birth and her coronation.

When I visited Buckingham Palace in London she was not home. I went a second and a third time and still she was not in. May the queens visit be an inspiration to many in New York and around the world?

I've always found it difficult to take the Queen of England seriously. That whole royalty culture is so alien to me, but hopefully she will focus attention on those who need it most.
